Breast Lift

Also known as mastopexy, a breast lift is the procedure used to address saggy breasts. This drooping can be the result of aging and the effects of gravity, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight loss. The procedure rejuvenates the breast by tightening the skin envelope, reshaping the underlying breast tissue, raising the nipple to a higher more appropriate location and reducing the size of the nipple so that it is more proportionate.

Breast lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient. The surgical time would depend on the extent of the lift and on the usage of implants. If done without implants, discomfort following the procedure is usually fairly mild and you can be quite functional within a few days. A breast lift with or without implants is commonly combined with a tummy tuck as part of a "Mommy Makeover" in order to improve the areas affected by pregnancy.
