You’re Already Thinking About Breast Augmentation, Why Not Add a Lift?

2 Minute Read:

A woman’s breasts usually undergo many and, often, substantial changes over the years. These can result from pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss and fluctuations, gravity, health, smoking, diet and genetics.

Over time, many women become dissatisfied with the appearance of their breasts and contemplate breast enhancement options to rejuvenate them and obtain a more desirable look.

Breast augmentation is an extremely popular and versatile procedure that offers benefits beyond increasing breast size. The procedure also corrects asymmetry, provides greater proportionality and helps restore confidence, sexual attractiveness and femininity.

While many women consider or, at least, hope that a breast augmentation will correct all their breast concerns, it usually doesn’t when it comes to sagging.

A breast augmentation addresses size and shape — to some extent. Unfortunately, it does not treat significant drooping (it may raise the breasts to a very minor degree).

So, if you are interested in breast enhancement but have moderate to significant breast ptosis (sagging), you will almost always need a breast lift.

If you do have substantial drooping, be wary of any surgeon who states that they can correct this by using large implants placed above the muscle.

This is a recipe for disastrous results — short and long term!

Get another opinion — preferably from a reputable board-certified plastic surgeon. Otherwise, you will be very unhappy either/both short and long term. Furthermore, your prospects for successful correction for the consequences can be quite guarded.

The bottom line is that a breast lift should NEVER be avoided if it is truly necessary.

In these situations, a combined augmentation mastopexy can yield the best and most beneficial results possible.

Combining a Breast Lift With Your Augmentation Procedure

Creates a More Youthful Appearance

If you struggle with insufficient breast volume and droopy, sagging breasts, combining both procedures can provide you with more complete results. The breast augmentation will add fullness and volume to the breasts, while the breast lift will correct the drooping.

Neither procedure is a replacement for the other.

Together, they can help give you the rejuvenated, attractive results that you desire.

When considering having your breasts enhanced, it is important that you work with an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon you can trust. Dr. Turkeltaub has extensive skills and experience in breast surgery and can help you achieve beautiful outcomes.
